Biography
Hilary Inwood (M.Ed, MA, PhD) is a teacher educator, researcher and artist who coordinates the Sustainability & Climate Action Network at the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on deepening teachers’ knowledge and skills in environmental learning, and on developing creative approaches to Environmental & Sustainability Education (ESE). She has taught a variety of graduate courses, including ones in ESE, Place-based Education, Qualitative Research and Fundamentals of Teaching. She coordinates a multiyear collaboration with the TDSB's Sustainability Office, which includes facilitating a team of teacher-researchers focused on environmental learning in their classrooms, and is a co-organizer of U of T's Community of Practice on Sustainability Teaching. She is a founding member of a national Canadian network that aims to better embed Environmental & Sustainability Education into teacher education, and co-lead of Accelerating Climate Change Education in Canadian Teacher Education, a national project funded by Environment Climate Change Canada.
